Our Pastor

Rev. Jameel Wesley is the thirty three year old son of John and Theressa Wesley and he is the seventh of eight siblings.  He is married to LaJarlyn Harris Wesley (who is the love of his life), and he's the proud father of two sons, Jameel II and Jaxsen.

From birth, he was reared in First Baptist Church of Highland Park. He credits his Biblical background and up bringing to his parents and his spiritual father (Rev. W.W. Walker).

Rev. Wesley graduated from Parkview High School in 1998 and Henderson State University in August 2002 with a bachelor's degree in communications.  Rev. Wesley declares that the four years that he spent in Arkadelphia impacted his life in ways that are too powerful to put in words.

Nine months after leaving HSU, He accepted his call to preach the gospel. A career opportunity relocated him to Memphis, but after two years God called him to leave a promising career, and enter into fulltime ministry. He served as youth minister at the Walker Memorial Christian Church as well as facility director for Memphis Athletic Ministry where he was able to pursue all three of his passions: youth, basketball, and ministry. Rev. Wesley believes that the Lord sent him to Memphis to sit under the leadership of Rev. Tyrone Hunt. Rev. Hunt is now a lifetime mentor and big brother for Wesley.

Rev. Wesley currently serves as pastor of the Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Ar.  He feels blessed and humbled to lead such a loving people. Rev. Wesley searches daily to save souls for Christ. He has taken on the Christ-like motto, "I love you and there ain't nothing you can do about it."

In addition to shepherding Eighth Street, Rev. Wesley also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Young Pastors Division of the Union District Baptist Association. He solicits the prayers of God's Saints as he continues his ministry in God's vineyard
